AC Installation & Replacement
New central air conditioning systems, sized correctly for the home
About AC Installation
A new air conditioner should be sized using a load calculation (such as ACCA Manual J) that accounts for the home's square footage, insulation, windows and orientation. Oversized and undersized systems both cause comfort and efficiency problems. Efficiency is measured by SEER2 — higher ratings use less electricity for the same cooling.
Typical AC Installation Process
1
Home Assessment
The home and existing system are evaluated and a load calculation is performed.
2
System Selection
Options are compared by capacity, SEER2 efficiency and features.
3
Scheduling
Installation is scheduled, along with any required permits.
4
Installation
The old system is removed and the new one installed to manufacturer specifications.
5
Testing & Walk-Through
Charge and airflow are verified and the homeowner is shown how to operate the system.
Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing should come from a load calculation, not the size of the old unit or square footage alone. An oversized unit short-cycles and dehumidifies poorly; an undersized unit runs constantly.
Regular maintenance helps protect your equipment. See the Maintenance Club and Offers pages (details not yet configured).
